Unfortunately, the States failed to build a cinema industry with viable funding and distribution instruments. However, thanks to the Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia and the FESPACO, taking place every second year in Burkina Faso, new talented young filmmakers are discovered yearly.
The main topic for this year’s KINO AFRIKA is to emphasize 50 years of captivating and promising history and perspectives of the Seventh Art in Africa.
From 9 until 12 September, KINO AFRIKA will present 10 films – works of fiction and documentaries – created from the early days of independence until Nollywood.
